Effect of reducing class sizeIf someone asks me that which class I like best, I will say ELI classes without any doubt. Not only because of the excellent and patient instructors and kind, smart classmates, also because of the small class size. In my class, there are nearly twenty students. It’s is a relatively small class. We benefit a lot from the small class size. First because of the number of students is relatively small, every student can get more individual attention from their instructors. As a consequence, students are paid close attention to. We can get specific and detailed feedback from our instructors, which is helpful for us to make progress. Instructors know each one of us well so that they can point out the key problem that we have directly and immediately. Second, because there are few students, it’s easy to get familiar with each other and make friends. I have a business class, in which there are at least fifty students, which adds difficulty to discussions and acquaintance with each other. Even still now, I only know a few people sit around me. It’s a totally different story of my ELI class, we know each other well; we communicated a lot, and we became good friends. The impact that a class size has on a student is undeniable. A relatively small class size helps each student gain individual attention and easy access to friendship.

My name is Geng Chen. Everybody calls me “Geng.” I am 19 years old. Pink is my favorite color so far. I mean My favorite will be changed by some uncertain reasons, so usually I will watch some movies. This term I have a lot of homework, so I don’t think I can watch many movies. I like to travel; I have already been to Chicago, Detroit, NYC, Washington DC, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Grand Canyon, and Yosemite National Park since coming US. And I like to make friends. In my travels, friends always are the most important part to me. My future plans are finish ELI classes quickly, and then get the Bachelor Degree, although I have not decided my major yet.
